Maame Konadu Mintah is a TED Global member and the author of over 1,000 original African stories — one of the most ambitious storytelling collections on the continent. Her work spans children's literature, cultural education, and advocacy, all united by a single conviction: that African children deserve stories that reflect who they are.
A distinguished expert in African textiles, Maame seamlessly blends deep cultural knowledge with a robust legal background. Her experience spans corporate entities, United Nations agencies, and international organisations. She holds an LLB in Law from GIMPA and specialised training in Conflict Resolution from KAIPTC — a foundation that informs her work with diverse groups, including the Nkrumah Garvey Fellowship Program in the USA.
Over the past five years, Maame has dedicated her research to the study of textiles and fabrics across Africa, focusing on cultural preservation, environmental impact, and sustainability. This research has enriched her teaching in customary law and positioned her as a leading voice in the global conversation around fast fashion and the traditions it threatens.
In 2024, she founded Mintoma Limited — an organisation dedicated to collaborating with the burgeoning African art community, inspiring and promoting global engagement through unique African designs and innovative cultural art pieces. As a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and board member of the OR Foundation, she actively engages in initiatives aimed at uplifting communities across the continent.
Maame disseminates her findings through speaking engagements and presentations at organisations worldwide, showcasing her expertise in driving influence through the power of African history, culture, and sustainability.
